Pirate! Robot! Ninja!

Pirate! Robot! Ninja!

Do you attack a scene with reckless abandon? Or do you analyze the cold logic of a scene? Or do you stay hidden in the shadow, ready for a precision strike? The best improv teams need all three. A pirate to charge without fear, a robot to keep the ship steady and a ninja to round your set into a masterpiece. In this workshop, I show you how to shape-shift between roles, enhance your natural strengths and be an all-rounded improviser.
Duration: 1-2 days
Experience: 2-5 years

Soaked in improv-wisdom, scene magic and with the mastery of functions of Pirate, Robot & Ninja well explained, demonstrated in a practical ‘this is how and why’ - throughout the workshop from start to finish. Two days in improv paradise !!!” - Øyvind Bedringås, Norway

A Hero's Journey Through Anime

A Hero's Journey Through Anime

This genre class focuses on Japanese anime! But not just any anime, a specific anime where you battle each other in ridiculous ways. Do dramatic yet funny and behave like real characters in Japanese style improv in a grounded way.
Duration: 3-6 hours

Fairy Tales from the East

Fairy Tales from the East

They say improv is storytelling, but which stories are you telling? Did you grow up with the western fairy tale Cinderella or The Frog and Princess? Or did you grow up with the eastern folklore Malin Kundang like The Ox and The Kancil? It’s time to hear these stories from other parts of the world and play with them! You will become open to other stories in the world, learn how to play even when you don’t know the culture references, and reflect that maybe you know about your cultural roots more than you expect.

Experience: 2-5 years

The Scene Ninja

The Scene Ninja

The ninja lies in the shadows waiting for a precision strike. How often do you want to help out a scene from the sidelines, but not sure what to do? A great ninja has many tools at their disposal to elevate a scene, whether by making a charismatic walk-on or a simple fluttering leaf in the wind. Or by lying in the shadows.

Theory of Everything

Theory of Everything

The Theory of Everything is improv for left-brained folks! Who says science & improv don’t mix? I am a scientist, and physics oddly enough have helped me in my improv journey. I’d love to share these with you, because maybe it helps YOU understand improv better. Why things work and why things don’t. How momentum works to build a scene, how magnetism creates comedy or dramatic tension, and how entropy plays into chaos! Let's experiment in the most hilarious way possible.

*NO prior science knowledge necessary - a fun, popular Physics 101 class comes for free!

Advanced Improv Fundamentals

Advanced Improv Fundamentals

This 2-day intensive is for experienced improviser who are looking to level up on their fundamentals and make great scenes. Do you find that, after a great start, your scenes wander aimlessly and lack that bite? We will work on your complete improv repertoire, making your moves bolder and your choices sharper. You will get personal feedback on how to continue becoming a great improviser.

We will focus on techniques for longform improvisation for both Narrative and Game of the Scene, being an actor from inside the scene with a director’s eye from the outside. We will go through classic forms such as the Harold, Living Room, Close Quarters, Pretty Flower, Hero’s Journey and what the key skills are for each form. On the second day we design together a show that makes you and your team’s star shines the brightest.

* You can attend this workshop individually, or come in as a duo/team to work on a format you are currently developing.

Duration: 2 days
Experience: 5-10 years

The Two Balloons

The Two Balloons

Improv is balloons. I am a balloon. You are a balloon. At initiation, we are two tiny points. As we add our names, our characters, our desires… we expand as balloons until they touch each other. THAT’s when the “real” scene starts. In this workshop, we learn to give space AND take up space so that you and your partner can build a scene together as equals. We look at fast expansion with big characters, we look at slower scenes, and find what is you and your partner’s natural rhythm.
